♥ my 19th birthday

x woke up and mum gave me a hug

x followed mum to the city and went to get brekky at maccas alone

x got a bacon & egg mcvalue meal... and the paper for free xD

x walked around for a little bit

x got my free birthday boost juice - strawberry squeeze this time, thought it was too early for something sour like lemon lol

x withdrew some money, picked up some bbt for josh & kavin, headed towards the bus stop that heads to uni

x saw about three fire engines at the underground train stn, what was going on! *googles*

x took the bus to uni

x met up with josh & kavin to give them their bubble tea

x kavin bought me a new flask and a pack of highlights =D

x went to my 2203 lecture and sat nxt to david

x met up with josh, and spent an hour fighting with him on ground floor of the science library

x met up with ange, chris, aaron & steven for cupcakes in the ref

x went to my 2212 lecture and sat next to christine, gab & david....... almost fell asleep.

x gave up on the lecture and went to meet josh ange and aaron at reid cafe, who were playing big2 with $7.95 Dora the Explorer cards

x looked up directions to carousel from uni, mel joins us to play cards

x the game ends, josh aaron & i head to the car

x after dropping aaron home we head to carousel to catch a movie because hoyts give u a free tix on ur bday xD

x we bawled our eyes during 'the last song'......... ahaha, nice movie, but a bit too depressing for a birthday i think

x we head into the city to get some dinner at outback jacks

x the food was alright, not as good as i thought it would be =( my bad, since i picked where we'd eat. i was really craving some good ribs too! but they weren't that great. much prefer lackers or tony romas

x entree, chips with bacon and cheese thingo, tasted good =D

x mixed grill and dingo's delight (chicken & rib combo)

x was SOOO full after dinner, didn't end up going to san churros like planned

x went home instead

x dad gave me a hug

x we watched pokemon season 10 diamond & pearl .... LOL

x josh fell asleep while watching xD

x josh left and i went to sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep

♥ march update :)

my apoligies for the lack of posts

finally finished my 25 hours. mum & dad still don't trust my driving (don't blame them) so they still won't let me drive alone... -___- still need to do the hazard perception test anyways. but still. it wont really feel like freedom after :(

MARCHHHHH = birthdays. and that means partiesssssss. so far it's been ry, peixins and cathys. oh and it was mums bday earlier this month ttoo! my sister's and my sister-in-law's birthday coming up too.

the uni work is piling up. its only been two weeks and i already feel behind. much behind than i should be. i jsut seem to be running out of time to do anything now-a-days. must make more time, especially for umat prep... my last year to give it a short, otherwise it'll be gamsat...

the boyfriend has been pretty nice to me lately. as he should be! haha. i even bought him some new boardies (TRANSFORMER ONES mwuahaa he doesn't really like transformers, and i knew that when i bought it, but i like it... so therefore he should wear it right?) and a new watch. i am such a good girlfriend....................... loL! self praise is no praise.

i've made one new friend since the start of uni. he name is lucy, she's in both my stat and math classes... oh and i guess allan counts as a friend too, even though he's my mentee. and i've tried to make more okay? but i'm still feeling a little hurt from that fobby asian guy in my maths class, who i introduced myself to, and all he did was shook my hand, gave me a funny look and went back to playing with his phone. he didn't even tell me his name! even though i told him mine! geez. antisocial people :(

1-day website is eating up my money. haha. i blame timmieeee for introducing it. i keep buying stuff from it. my dads not happy i keep using his credit card too. whoops :)

so i've kinda got my eyes set on a red yaris for my first car. still in the process of saving for it though... not really close. esp as i might be dropping by malaysia mid year (byebye $_$)

i bought this new wallet purse thing for sportsgirl. i've been looking for something like that for a while now. i first saw a more rectagular hard case one in one of my psyc tutes last year.. and when i went looking around i found a few in dotti and portmans but idk.. they were all a bit too glittery or flowery for my liking. but im happy i stopped by sportsgirl on the way to the bus station, because i found a softer one in a black criss cross pattern thing. its really handy because its like a bag, but when you unclip it and open it, its got all your card compartments and a mirror and notes / coin place.. and it also fits my phone in there too =D and most likely my keys too. so its handy. i quite like it.

anyways its getting late and i've got to get up early to follow my mother. she is leaving half an hour early just so my sister makes it in time for her bus. i really don't understand why she can't just drive and park at the bus or train station... invading into my sleep time, GEEZ.

so anyways, today is sunday, the first sunday of february to be exact - which in other words is vision sunday. we had community lunch together as a church, with a sausage sizzle... and whoever made that potato salad, did a really good job hey. it was nice :)

so the rest of my day has been sorta cleaning my room. still in the process of it btw. and i found this note. i don't remember why he sent it. there's no date, which is kinda sad. but all the same, it's quite cute.

also spent some time making a little collage for the family computer using photofunia and pain.. lovelove.

♥ start of 2010

josh seems to be full of expection for this year...

where as i'm sorta meh-ish... which is un-usual, in a bad way.

it's been 10 days into the new year. and i'm glad i spent 7 of it in good use at beach mission.

it was most certainly tiring and full on... but it was fun and i enjoyed the time we had with the kids.

i fought with josh lots while we were there... we easily got annoyed at each other.

he found that i was negative, sarcastic and belittling. i found him to be insulting, insensitive and impatient.

we fought quite a bit, if not everyday. we always make up by the end of the day though.

i was thinking it was the ratio of the time we spend together. the more time we spend together, obviously the more we will fight (but to the same ratio as normal)...

he thinks it's because of the situation we were in... like we were always doing things and organising things etc.

i do not know. but i think we both learnt a lot about how we treat each other. we both have our flaws. just gotta work on it i guess!

i'm excited that our one year is less than a month away. seems like we've been through a lot. seems like we've changed lots too. i'll keep the reflection for 090210...

for the rest of my holidays i hope to donate blood (so far we plan to go on friday), i also plan to catch up with friends (tues, wed) and hopefully not work TOO much.

because i need to rest.

today was pretty constructive! went to church... had lunch...cleaned up all my first year uni notes (and organised it into units) and sorted out my units for this year (yes i changed to majoring in psyc and applied stats)... replied to all my emails... caught up with facebook... figured out a rough draft for my uni timetable...

i must go shopping one of these days. got a bunch of presents i need to buy for all these birthdays i've missed >.<

anyways thats it for now. hello 2010. ready or not, here i come.

♥ popcorn & foam

yesterday i tried triple butter popcorn.

yes thats right. triple.

it was lovely. and yes it was one of those microwave packets but they taste sooo gooooddd..

so yesterday i did end up going to the party. it was a foam party.

yes. that's right, foam!

it was pretty cool huh! but very short lived fun kinda thing though. but a very different and original kinda party.

it was fun, but long and tiring. foam can only entertain for so long (the machine stopped), and i only knew so many people. and it was very grouped already so it wasn't so easy to meet new people and engage in a convo, when they're all sorta in their own groups.

after being convered in foam (yes even my hair) thanks to the tbc boys (which i should stop calling tbc but rather lh now)... it was kinda sticky. like it dried and it felt like ( as josh put it ) "someone had licked all over you"... err yes. and how he knows how that feels - i do not know.

i ended up sleeping til 1pm the next day, skipped church, =X. i had some questions for pastor but maybe i'll email him.

must dig into some hardcore study today. sorta was thinking about it today as i was lying in bed, not wanting to get up. there is so much content to get through... for all my units. and exams are rapidly approaching. i technically don't even have a study break because my hbio exam in on that thurs and psyc is on the sat. boo!

anyways. time to wake up the boyfriend from his 10 minute nano nap. 'til next time.

♥ gift ideas

don't you love presents.

i do!

i'm the kinda person who like to give either very typical stuff, or very useful stuff. sometimes thoughtful stuff, but usually practical.

my most common present that i give, is clothes. especially for guys. tshirts and jumpers...
for girls, i use to give lots of jewellery, but i've sorta stopped, because i find that if your like me, u just have way too much that u never wear half of them, so its kinda a waste i guess...

i usually buy things for people things i think they will like / use... and also that i would want if i was to get to it. i don't really like getting useless presents. unless they're nice like flowers (so generic), because it feels good to receive flowers don't u think?

presents that are cool / funny are good too. like cool toys and stuff, you don't really need them, but if they're cool or have meaning... then its a nice present.

anyways. i was putting together a present for my mate in sydney. mate/exbf. uhh, it sounds kinda awkward i guess... but it was a good break up. the kind where ur great mates after. and not great enemies.

when i was thinking of a present for him, i guess it was kinda difficult because i had to take into account postage and handling... weight and shapee etc etc... and i know he's been going through a tough time, so i was hoping to go for something more along the thoughtful side.

then i remembered this one time i was surfing the net for thoughtful presents, and i came across a yahoo post saying something like, getting an umbrella and writing a note on it, saying how "sometimes you need to take a risk, and step into the rain"... corny stuff like that xD.

so i decided to put my own box together. but instead of using such generic sorta stuff, i put a lot of things that had to do with our friendship or the jokes we use to make. i tried to still keep it practical though. ahaha. there was a torch for his car... "to light the way when its dark and ur lost"... and random stuff like lynx bodywash named 'antihangover'... "to rejuvinate in the morning after those long nights"... and other random stuff like pictured sticktape "to mend all things broken" and sesame street bandaids "to heal all things bleeding in style". ahaha, and even a disposable camera "to capture those special moments".

each thing had a little tag attached by ribbon to each little part. and yeah it turned out pretty cool =). squeezing it into a postage bag was slightly difficult. i had to end up drawing a picture of an umbrella, because a real would wouldnt fit, haha.

otherwise yeah, that would have to be one of the coolest presents i've put together. it wasn't cheap though, so i don't think i'll be doing it again for a while, haha, its amazing how all these little things add up!

it's a good present idea though, for someone who has everything they want / need!

♥ branded stuff

ohmygosh. so today at church alvin gave me an oroton box as a late present for my birthday. and it sorted resulted in a few of us joking around about how the box gets your hopes up, because i assumed that it was just the box, and not really anything oroton in it.

but i was wrong =/ LOL and now i feel bad. it really did have an oroton wallet in it, and its pretttttttttyyyyy!

anyways im really happy, because ive been wanting to replace the wallet my sister gave me for my last birthday, because even though it's 'guess'... it's not very pretty, plus its kinda big and bulky. but i use it, because she gave it to me, and i endeavour to be a nice sister... and she did try to get something that i liked.

but the thing is, that she thought just because it was 'guess' that i would like it. and this is why she was so wrong...

this brings me to the topic of branded stuff.

and how some branded stuff... are really expensive. and really nice. and thats all cool. its the kinda things u dream of =) the kinda things that would make u really satisfied if u got it. but u never buy... because its so $_$

but then u get the kinda branded stuff.. that is really ugly O__O... but many buy it anyways? and u know, it's this kinda aspect of branded things that confuse me.

i remember faintly one day, i was walking through david jones with a friend. and they pointed out a bag to me. it was like $3k or something. and it was hideous. well at least i thought so anyways. but there is probably one old rich lady out there who will love this bag and pay the $3k for it...

...

haha. another thing is like david jones. when their shoes are on sale... i remember picking up one of them, as i was walking through the store. and it was on sale. like 50-75% off or something. but it was still like 400 bucks!

oh oh. and the other day i was working at looksmart right, and i passed by david jones and they were having this make up thing with some high end class guy - napoleon perdis? something like that. and seriously... people paid $500 to get their make up done. $500!!!!!!!!! i bet more than half of them didn't even have a special occasion that night. And yes, i just checked the karrinyup newsletter and it said it was redeemable on products. but really.. $500... ... ... i don't know how so many can justify spending that much?

geez. i think i'll just stay out of david jones... really. i dont know where people can find the money for all these kinda things.

and really, i get such a satification from finding bargains and going sale shopping. i wonder that if u turn rich, u turn into not caring about price anymore?

ahh but such money could be spent on so much better things.

anyways. s2 my new wallet.. my sister will be so jealous =)

♥ presents

presents are awesome.

and i got some awesome presents this year for my 18th from some wonderful people =)

and its kinda funny, because i had a list of things i wanted, and i was going to use when people asked me what i wanted... but i never really put that list on fb, or my blog, or really told people the whole list... but i ended up getting a lot of what was on that list. so u could say im happy =) but i would have been happy anyways.

anyways. here's just a few things i got... don't feel left out if urs isnt up here (i appreciate it just as much!)

the umbrella.
dude, isn't this just the coolest umbrella ever? haha. my mate, david, from uni gave this to me. and it was so cool because i actually needed a new umbrella. at first i thought he gave me alcohol... then i opened it xD... its so cool, i've been going around uni showing everyone... xD ahaha im so lame

the necklace.
birthdays are expensive, especially when it comes to your boyfriend/girlfriend's birthday. money is usually spent on expensive flowers chocolate and things that are really........ generic... and most of the time, un-useful. haha, josh and i decided we would get each other these... they're matching and really symbolize the heart of our relationship. We both wanted/needed cross necklaces, and finding these... made present buying... so much easier. haha. esp cauz our bdays are near each other..

the photoalbum and letters.
aside from what we refered to as the "materialistic" present, there comes a "meaningful/thoughtful" one too. hehe, so my dearest boyfriend wrote me thirty letters over the course of thirty days. it was nearly thirty thousand words, and it took me a good couple of hours to read though. but they were very thoughtful and i loved the effort he put into them. he also put together a photo album full of pictures of us, with some awesome quotes.

the pencil case and scented highlighters.
i think smiggle is amazing. haha and even though i have tons of stationery... i really like dropping by there and getting stuff. mel, my cell group leader got me this, it was really sweet of her. the pencil case is awesome. its so handy because i can open it up from any part of the pencil case. its really good for finding things that are at the bottem of your pencil case (it means u dont have to take everything out to get it!)

the towel
it's amazing that i got a towel for my birthday, because i actually had it on my list! i've been overusing my roxy beach towel that i got on my 16th birthday haha. that it's been fading =(. so i was really happy when huy gave me this bag at church and i looked into it and it was a towel! it was also a bit late, so it was cool how i was still getting presents - and ones i needed too!

the totoro bag.
this bag is from lauf. well actually i showed winnie a picture of it, because i wanted it. haha. and she got it for me. so far, it has caused two randoms to talk to me on the bus - asking me where i had got it from, and also how they loved the anime/movie.
i heart this bag. its nice and big. fits EVERYTHING. from laptop to uni books to pencil case and two boxes of lunch (on mondays my mum makes josh lunch too)... its super cute too. just not very good for my shoulder when i carry lots of stuff. but i'm liking how im meeting new people because of it =)

the toad pillow
again, from lauf. haha. i dont know if you guys know it. but i like to sleep with lots of pillows. im amazed how some people can just sleep with one pillow. i need plenty! two behind my head. one to hug. more to the side of me in case i roll over... this one is super cute. and u know when i see something u want. but u don't want it enough that you would pay for it. but u still want it? yeah this is one of those kinda things, and its great when someone buys it for u.

hsm & spoons & bear & whip.
ahaha, now this bunch of stuff was from some of the boys at church. and i wouldn't usually mention it, because of the content, but they put a lot of thought into it. yes, they gave me a whip. from what i gather it is a rather expensive whip. haha... and that is all i will say about that. also, they wrote in a hsm card, and gave me a hsm sticker/calender book. which they attempted to show me how lame hsm was. but i thought it was cool? oh and the spoons... they were engraved too. and some meaning which i still am having trouble to understand. haha.

the boardgame.
hehe. i haven't played boardgames in ages. but im quite happy i got this for my birthday. simply because i always to parties. and they always ask u to bring games.. and i never really have anything to bring =/ because all my boardgames are old and stuff, e.g. half broken molopoly, boggle... etc. so now i can bring this =) i haven't played it yet. but it looks fun xD

the bible.
actually timmie asked me what i wanted. and i knew he would be the perfect person to pick a bible for me. there are so many types, so when he asked me what kind... i tried to specify. i wanted one that could fit into my handbag (so A5 size was good). i wanted red letters. something not too heavy, with a good size font and easy to read.
and wah-lah. i got my bible =) thanks to timmie and dan. and i like it immensely because reading my electronic bible at night is not easy! especially when im at church and the light there isn't so good too. and my only other bible is a teen one thats really big O_O and not very convenient to carry around.

handle with care.
ahh, peixin from high school / uni got me this one =) he knew i wanted it before i even told anyone. i've only gotten through the first few pages. but i look forward to getting into it.. the story blurb was so interesting, and jody piccoult is an amazing author. yay its now my third book in my collection of her books (aside from nineteen minutes and my sister's keeper)

the ikea shelf.
this present came a little late. but it was so good to come home. and find this sitting in my room, covered in funny pictures and messages from friends i haven't been able to catch up with lately (because of busyness) but friends who despite not seeing them for a while, still mean so much. haha its super awesome, esp the colour! they know how messy and untidy my room is, so they got me this to try to make it more organised xD. haha, it was really cool... each of the messages made me laugh, they even attempted to make turtles out of playdough... it was really good to get it, esp after such a long day, even though it was a belated birthday gift.

alright, thats it for now... i will now leave you with a picture of my nailpolish collection. to remind myself that i have TOO MANY. and i need to stop buying them... they aren't cheap too huh! i never use to wear nailpolish.. so i really do blame josh for this one. he started it. but now i'm going to finish it, no more nailpolish buying! the bottles are so big too, it'll last me ages... but until then, i should stop wasting money on such things.
