♥ presents
presents are awesome.
and i got some awesome presents this year for my 18th from some wonderful people =)
and its kinda funny, because i had a list of things i wanted, and i was going to use when people asked me what i wanted... but i never really put that list on fb, or my blog, or really told people the whole list... but i ended up getting a lot of what was on that list. so u could say im happy =) but i would have been happy anyways.
anyways. here's just a few things i got... don't feel left out if urs isnt up here (i appreciate it just as much!)
the umbrella.
dude, isn't this just the coolest umbrella ever? haha. my mate, david, from uni gave this to me. and it was so cool because i actually needed a new umbrella. at first i thought he gave me alcohol... then i opened it xD... its so cool, i've been going around uni showing everyone... xD ahaha im so lame
the necklace.
birthdays are expensive, especially when it comes to your boyfriend/girlfriend's birthday. money is usually spent on expensive flowers chocolate and things that are really........ generic... and most of the time, un-useful. haha, josh and i decided we would get each other these... they're matching and really symbolize the heart of our relationship. We both wanted/needed cross necklaces, and finding these... made present buying... so much easier. haha. esp cauz our bdays are near each other..
the photoalbum and letters.
aside from what we refered to as the "materialistic" present, there comes a "meaningful/thoughtful" one too. hehe, so my dearest boyfriend wrote me thirty letters over the course of thirty days. it was nearly thirty thousand words, and it took me a good couple of hours to read though. but they were very thoughtful and i loved the effort he put into them. he also put together a photo album full of pictures of us, with some awesome quotes.
the pencil case and scented highlighters.
i think smiggle is amazing. haha and even though i have tons of stationery... i really like dropping by there and getting stuff. mel, my cell group leader got me this, it was really sweet of her. the pencil case is awesome. its so handy because i can open it up from any part of the pencil case. its really good for finding things that are at the bottem of your pencil case (it means u dont have to take everything out to get it!)
the towel
it's amazing that i got a towel for my birthday, because i actually had it on my list! i've been overusing my roxy beach towel that i got on my 16th birthday haha. that it's been fading =(. so i was really happy when huy gave me this bag at church and i looked into it and it was a towel! it was also a bit late, so it was cool how i was still getting presents - and ones i needed too!
the totoro bag.
this bag is from lauf. well actually i showed winnie a picture of it, because i wanted it. haha. and she got it for me. so far, it has caused two randoms to talk to me on the bus - asking me where i had got it from, and also how they loved the anime/movie.
i heart this bag. its nice and big. fits EVERYTHING. from laptop to uni books to pencil case and two boxes of lunch (on mondays my mum makes josh lunch too)... its super cute too. just not very good for my shoulder when i carry lots of stuff. but i'm liking how im meeting new people because of it =)
the toad pillow
again, from lauf. haha. i dont know if you guys know it. but i like to sleep with lots of pillows. im amazed how some people can just sleep with one pillow. i need plenty! two behind my head. one to hug. more to the side of me in case i roll over... this one is super cute. and u know when i see something u want. but u don't want it enough that you would pay for it. but u still want it? yeah this is one of those kinda things, and its great when someone buys it for u.
hsm & spoons & bear & whip.
ahaha, now this bunch of stuff was from some of the boys at church. and i wouldn't usually mention it, because of the content, but they put a lot of thought into it. yes, they gave me a whip. from what i gather it is a rather expensive whip. haha... and that is all i will say about that. also, they wrote in a hsm card, and gave me a hsm sticker/calender book. which they attempted to show me how lame hsm was. but i thought it was cool? oh and the spoons... they were engraved too. and some meaning which i still am having trouble to understand. haha.
the boardgame.
hehe. i haven't played boardgames in ages. but im quite happy i got this for my birthday. simply because i always to parties. and they always ask u to bring games.. and i never really have anything to bring =/ because all my boardgames are old and stuff, e.g. half broken molopoly, boggle... etc. so now i can bring this =) i haven't played it yet. but it looks fun xD
the bible.
actually timmie asked me what i wanted. and i knew he would be the perfect person to pick a bible for me. there are so many types, so when he asked me what kind... i tried to specify. i wanted one that could fit into my handbag (so A5 size was good). i wanted red letters. something not too heavy, with a good size font and easy to read.
and wah-lah. i got my bible =) thanks to timmie and dan. and i like it immensely because reading my electronic bible at night is not easy! especially when im at church and the light there isn't so good too. and my only other bible is a teen one thats really big O_O and not very convenient to carry around.
handle with care.
ahh, peixin from high school / uni got me this one =) he knew i wanted it before i even told anyone. i've only gotten through the first few pages. but i look forward to getting into it.. the story blurb was so interesting, and jody piccoult is an amazing author. yay its now my third book in my collection of her books (aside from nineteen minutes and my sister's keeper)
the ikea shelf.
this present came a little late. but it was so good to come home. and find this sitting in my room, covered in funny pictures and messages from friends i haven't been able to catch up with lately (because of busyness) but friends who despite not seeing them for a while, still mean so much. haha its super awesome, esp the colour! they know how messy and untidy my room is, so they got me this to try to make it more organised xD. haha, it was really cool... each of the messages made me laugh, they even attempted to make turtles out of playdough... it was really good to get it, esp after such a long day, even though it was a belated birthday gift.
alright, thats it for now... i will now leave you with a picture of my nailpolish collection. to remind myself that i have TOO MANY. and i need to stop buying them... they aren't cheap too huh! i never use to wear nailpolish.. so i really do blame josh for this one. he started it. but now i'm going to finish it, no more nailpolish buying! the bottles are so big too, it'll last me ages... but until then, i should stop wasting money on such things.
