♥ politics and critics

well well well

yesterday i woke up to australia's new PM, julia gillard...

not a fan, but of course thats just my opinion.

however i did get quite annoyed that every time i turned on the television it was Julia this Julia that. even my home & away was delayed BECAUSE OF THE NEWS and their presenting of "julia's gillards journey"

so i think the concept of having a female priminister is great, but whether she's the right one for the job i am not so sure.

what does come to mind though, is the way people vote. for example. barrack obama - first 'black' president of america. i wonder how many people voted for him JUST BECAUSE he was 'black'. you know what i mean? like they think its a really good change and moving into new times. but they don't look at the policies or anything, but rather they are swayed by just the idea / concept of something new and 'good' morally. But i guess you can also get the opposite - you know, people who purposely don't vote for him because of the colour of his skin. But i wonder which side outweighs the other?

so i wonder if this new PM of ours will be any good. I'm doubtful but ready to see her do her job. I really feel for Kevin Rudd though. He won people over with his ability to talk well, i think (which reminds me, Tony Abbott is not so good at talking in interviews huh)... and to see that Kevin Oh Seven lose his position, I really do feel sorry for him. He is actually quite smart, or at least he turned out to be a better leader than i thought he would.

Also trailing my mind is this whole masterchef hate campaign thing. My parents and I usually crowd around the TV to watch masterchef... and there's always been this thing about Joanne that I didn't really like. I didn't think she was that great of a cook. But to read THIS:

 Fan ban threat over MasterChef hate campaign

and yes I didn't like her but i wouldn't chuck uber hate comments on the masterchef website. and i wouldn't create a fb group.

because you know. she's human too. and we will always come across people we dislike becuase of their personality or whatever. but they're still human. and to purposely go out of your way to bagg them down, especially like this.. it's quite harsh i thought.

anyways. thats it for now. new news is that alvin might be going to syd for work again so i might be able to crash at his place! yay. its closer to the uni too. and he cooks =D

    1 Peter 5:6-7 (The Message)
    So be content with who you are,
    and don't put on airs.
    God's strong hand is on you;
    He'll promote you at the right time.
    Live carefree before God;
    He is most careful with you.
